Start with the operating load, not only nameplate totals

A professional generator-sizing process begins with real operating demand. Review base load, motor starts, nonlinear loads and the transfer sequence before selecting a kVA class.

For standby projects, treat connected load as a reference only. What matters is the simultaneous load, the largest start event and the acceptable voltage dip during transfer.

Check motor starting and transient response

Industrial buyers often underestimate the impact of motor starting current. Compressors, pumps, HVAC systems and process drives can force the generator into a higher frame size even when running load looks moderate.

A stronger transient response strategy may include a larger alternator, different engine platform or staged startup logic.
